Guang Ming Junior High School, Taoyuan County

Located in Nan-Kan, Guang Ming junior high school is riched in plenty of learning resources nearby for the students to watch and learn. Grand and new-fashioned, our school is fully equipped with all kinds of up-to-date audio-visual teaching equipments for the need of teaching efficiency. Creative teaching is emphasized as well as encouraging students to completely utilize their potentials in all fields of learning, including academic achievement and physical education. Our aim for the future is to continue creating an excellent environment of learning. In the meantime, we will try our best to inspire every student to have a wholesome development as much as possible.
光明國中於民國85年9月3日成立籌備處，在民國88年8月1日正式招生。校地面積2.6公頃，緊鄰南崁溪。因校地位於古南崁溪的河床地上，故在地人都稱此地區為「河底」，因此特將本校的綠活圖主題命名為『河底橋畔』。
本校的學區涵蓋南榮、南興、錦興、錦中、長興及蘆竹六村，地理位置居國道1號南崁高速公路和桃園國際機場之樞紐。本次藉由綠活圖的製作，整合學校週邊的在地景點，培養學生愛護鄉土的情懷。實現學校的願景『營造快樂希望新學園、培育智慧謙和好學生』。
本校位於蘆竹鄉內，蘆竹鄉古地名南崁，根據蘆竹鄉記載，南崁之地名由來應該是由地形而來，崁：因斷層或地盤隆起致使河川下切之地形或河階地形，而龜山鄉與蘆竹鄉交界的地形為自西北向東南、東北逐漸傾斜升高的高台地形，而此地位於高台地形的南邊，故稱為南崁，在17世紀中此地之平埔族社名就稱為南崁社，現在雖改名為蘆竹鄉，但大多數的人仍沿用舊稱，甚至交流道亦稱南崁交流道。光明國中位於南崁溪中下游的河岸邊，古地名稱河底，本校所在稱為頂河底，往南崁溪更下游的蓮花田所在地為下河底。
