Overview
Jug Bay Natural Area is a large park along the Patuxent River with miles of woodland trails and beautiful wetlands. Come for hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, or bird watching. There are also seasonal, guided education programs available to learn all about the ecology and wildlife of this important estuary habitat. Jug Bay is also a sanctuary for researchers to learn more about the wetlands and tidal estuaries that lead into Chesapeake Bay and how environmental changes play a role in this ecosystem.
