The River Project
Overview
Entrance at Southside of Pier 40, The River Project is a Marine Science Field Station, founded in 1986 In Tribeca in what is now the Hudson River Park.The Project’s programs and live exhibits expand public understanding of the natural world and inspire people to appreciate and value the ecosystem in which they live. The Project continually demonstrates the ways in which an intimate view of what is at the waterfront and beneath the surface contributes to the quality of life for all New Yorkers. The River Project works to protect and restore the ecosystem of the Hudson River Estuary and New York Harbor through scientific research, hands-on environmental education, habitat improvement and innovative waterfront programs.
