Chadwick Bros. Marine, Inc. is part of a long history of family-owned businesses. It began in 1941 with Ira Pigott Chadwick when he opened the store as a general store with supplies for local residents. Gas and an auto repair/service station was added and was operated by Ira's sons, David and Walter. David and his wife, Mamie, operated the business as an outboard motor repair from 1968 to 2001. In 2004, David and Mamie's daughter and son-in-law operated the business as a bait and tackle shop. It is now owned and operated by their sons, Mike and Christopher.
