Llandrindod rugby club
Overview
from the website:
"The Club was formed in 1972, and after many years playing in the Mid Wales League, are now part of Division 6 (Central). With most of their away matches being played in the Cardiff, Merthyr & Bridgend areas there is inevitably a lot of travelling but this is really exciting and committed rugby, with great hospitality.
Though based in the small country town of Llandrindod Wells, the club draws from a catchment area as far as Rhayader and Builth Wells and in the past it has attracted a number of overseas players who have come to work in the town.
The Clubhouse, built in 1981 using the members’ labour, stands on land leased from Powys County Council. The pitch itself is also leased from Powys, and was provided with floodlights, again through self-help, some years ago. Full pitch drainage has also been installed.
In recent seasons, we have been noted for having a young, vibrant squad, many of whom went to school together, whose trademark is to play fast open rugby. We are always open to new ideas and, of course, new players."
