Built in 1926 as a memorial to World War I veterans, a devastating fire in 1979 completely gutted the interior of the auditorium. In 1985, the renovated and modernized building was re-dedicated. Although the building was modernized, the stately elegance and grandeur of a by-gone era was retained.
