COMPLETED: 2012 RVA Street Art Festival
Overview
The 2012 RVA Street Art Festival brought together more than a dozen local and national street artists to create an outdoor art gallery along Richmond’s James River Floodwall and the Canal Walk. Invited artists created their art on 16’ x 38’ murals spaced along the floodwall and on the Power Plant building overlooking the Canal.
The goal was to show the creative power of street art, liven up the otherwise drab floodwall, and attract people and tourists to the outdoor art gallery that showcases the Canal Walk and the Shockoe neighborhood.
This festival was produced by Ed Trask and Jon Baliles in association with Venture Richmond, the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce and Altria.
