Oude Molen Eco Village on the border of Pinelands has at least 6 organic vegetable growers, the Millstone Farmstall & Cafe which has solar heated water, uses recyclable packaging for all their products, only sells locally produced and/or organic goods and has a strict additive free food policy. All food is made from scratch with free range eggs and real butter.

At Oude Molen Eco Village we have a Food Garden for the children of Maitland Garden village where the kids grow their own vegetables to take home or to sell on. There is also an organic tobacco farmer who makes and sells his own cigars. There are bee hives and the Oude Molen honey is sold at the Millstone Farmstall.

Kendre Allies - a reformed gangster has about 38 horses on the estate, some of which are rescued from the Cape Flats.

The Millstone Farmstall is also a collection point for the Slow Food Cape Town Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) bag scheme.

This is a vegetable project which connects urban Capetonians with local, small scale, emerging organic farmers. CSA members pay in advance to share in the farmer's harvest, and receive a share every week through a veggie bag scheme. The members can attend farm outings to meet the farmers and learn how their food is grown, and stay in touch via a weekly e-newsletter and blog, which explains the impact the weather and other forces have on the farm and crops, gives info about the farmers, and lets members share recipes and their experiences.
