Alva Glen is a steeply wooded gorge that cuts in to the Ochil Hills in Clackmannanshire. Alva and it's Glens have had a rich history. There is evidence of prehistoric activity as well as Pictish and Roman remains in the area. There are links with St Serf (St Servanus) whose Chapel and Well are local sites. There has been a place of Christian worship in Alva since the 12th Century and this has fuelled the local people’s belief that the Glen is a spiritual place.
