The Green Hub provides information and booking services for visitors wanting to engage in eco-tourism activities within the Greater Durban Area. Visitors are also able to hire tour guides from the hub and to take guided canoe trails on the uMngeni Estuary. The hub is a “green” building and has been fitted with several “green” technologies, such as rainwater harvesting tanks, solar panels, and natural lighting and ventilation. In addition to demonstrating the effectiveness of these technologies, the Green Hub also hosts events that aim to capacitate and educate adults and children about “green” technologies and more sustainable living.
