Southeast Bio Diesel
Vue d'ensemble
Southeast BioDiesel (SEBD) is an independently owned and operated production facility based in North Charleston. SEBD produces 100% pure biodiesel fuel using feedstocks from both virgin and recycled sources, including clean burning B100 biodiesel fuel from poultry fat. The diesel can be used with or in place of petro-diesel fuel in all modern diesel engines. The fuel produced by SEBD is non-hazardous, non-carcinogenic, and 100% biodegradable.
Their pilot plant is located in the Eco-Industrial section of the Navy Yard at Noisette in North Charleston. The plant’s unique design aims to reclaim, recycle and reuse as many of the processing materials as possible.
* 90% of all plant equipment is pre-owned or repurposed.
* Rainwater is collected from outdoor collection system and cleaned for use in the fuel production process.
* All water used in the process is cleaned, treated, and reused in future production cycles.
* Glycerin, the main byproduct of biodiesel production is sold to local industries for use as a power generator.
* No waste material is released into the sewer.
