Incheon Metropolitan City Museum
Overview
Incheon Metropolitan City Museum is the first public museum to be established in Korea. Opened since April 1946, Incheon Metropolitan City Museum studies the local history and cultural heritages of Incheon and reveals all the findings to the citizens for free. This museum has even worked as a place for relaxation and education when people were in a state of panic after the liberation from Japan and the Korean War that occurred decades ago. Now, it became a place for people to enjoy the attractions and participate in different program. This museum provides a lot of interesting attractions to see, and they include records or remains from the prehistoric ages, Three Kingdom Period, Goryeo dynasty, Joseon dynasty and many more. Not only that, this museum exhibits the cultural heritages that represent the everyday life of the past such as old phones or wedding cards which people donated to the museum. Through these exhibitions, visitors get to take a look at not just famous cultural heritages or treasures of Korea, but also at the products that were commonly used in the past and imagine how the life would have been like in the past.
