Songdo Central Park
Overview
Songdo Central Park is located in Incheon, Songdo, and is near the Central Park station (line 1). This park was first built with the intention of providing a green belt inside a downtown and eases the city heat island. Songdo Central Park has the title of being the first park in Korea that draws the seawater into the artificial canal, which is about 1.8 kilometers long and 110 meters wide. Two water taxis for 12 people and 32 people respectively rotates around the canal, and it takes about 25 minutes per ride. Riding a boat or kayak in this canal is also allowed. In the middle of the canal, there is an artificial island where rabbits live. To take a closer view at the rabbits, visitors must use the boat or the kayak to get there. Around the canal, there is a trail for visitors to take a stroll. There is also a deer farm near the water wheel in this park, where one can find beautiful Formosan deer. Because of the amazing view of this park, many commercials and tv program ere filed here. Festivals such as Songdo Light Festival are also held here, and attract not just residents but also tourists.
