Springer's Point Nature Preserve has more than 120 acres of maritime forest, tidal red cedar forest, salt marsh, wet grasslands and sound front beach to the sandy beach overlooking the infamous Teach's Hole. The Preserve is interlaced with meandering tidal creeks flowing from Old Slough and houses a rookery for white ibis, herons and egrets. Springer's Point has been designated as one of the state's significant natural heritage areas because of its unique maritime forest and importance to colonial water birds. Enjoy an easy 10 minute walk through changing forests environments with sound side access. This is a wonderful reserve, and one of the best spots on the island for sunset views. There is NO PARKING at this site.
