Vue d'ensemble
The newly constructed, 310,000 square-foot MeadWestvaco (MWV) Corporate Headquarters building received Green Globes Four Globe certification from the US Green Building Initiative (GBI). As the third U.S. building to achieve this rating, the building incorporates passive solar energy and day lighting, low-VOC interiors and furnishings, energy efficient heating and cooling systems, energy efficient building materials and glass, and reduced water consumption through native landscaping and plumping and control features. The building also incorporated an efficient construction process, with nearly 95 percent of the building construction waste being recycled. This building exemplifies MWV's commitment to sustainable practices.
