Overview
Parks’ Natural Resources Group (NRG), Bronx River Alliance, Youth Ministries for Peace and Justice, and Rocking the Boat recently constructed and installed a small oyster reef in the Bronx River, off of Soundview Park. The habitat, recreated by community youth, serves as a pilot study to help frame the best methods to restore oyster habitats and increase oyster populations in this part of the New York Estuary.
