Overview
Brown Cottage
58 Ocean Boulevard
Victorian vernacular
Built in the 1870s. As of 1889, the owner was Rev. Oliver A. Brown, a summer resident from 1887 until 1908. The original outline and shape of the house is basically intact--simple design, four gables, 2 1/2 stories -- windows have been changed.
Note that the houses of 58 and 60 Ocean Boulevard were known as "Ministers' Row" in the 1880s.
