This bank is positioned to maximize ambient light and minimize solar heat gain, uses recycled content materials, low VOC in interior paints and sealants, and rapidly renewable materials such as bamboo flooring and wheat doors. On the site a rainwater collection captures the AC condensation and rain water to service landscape irrigation and water used by the dual flush toilets. The energy used by this building is produced by a photovoltaic system and the building is designed to exceed the existing energy code by 15%. This is achieved by the building design, utilizing a dehumidification system, high efficiency heating and air conditioning system (HVAC), and high efficiency lighting.
