Within CLF’s program areas — farming, eating and living for our future — we are engaged in three principal activities: research, educational outreach, and community action. Programs include food production, food communities, food system sustainability, and food system policy. Students studying at the Bloomberg School of Public Health are able to take classes from faculty of the center, with topics focused mainly on food in relation to public health.
Mission of CLF: To promote research and to develop and communicate information about the complex interrelationships among diet, food production, environment and human health; to advance an ecological perspective in reducing threats to the health of the public; and to promote policies that protect health, the global environment and the ability to sustain life for future generations.
