Fairwood Forest is the first community forest to be preserved in Baltimore City. It's an urban forest, home to 23 species of trees, red foxes, deer, rabbits, spotted salamanders, opossums, and countless bird species. Fairwood forest is also a stop on hawk migration route; thousands of hawks are spotted each year during the fall and spring.

To keep in touch about efforts to preserve the remaining acreage, join the "Save Fairwood Forest" Facebook group or visit fairwoodforest.org.
