ARV Chronic Clubs
Overview
Managing HIV through antiretroviral (ARV) treatment takes care and time – a lot of time, since South Africa has the highest HIV rate in the world. City Health’s partnered ARV Clubs remove eligible (stable and responding) HIV patients from overcrowded clinics. Patients now spend only 30 minutes at clinics every few months. Over 15% of all patients receiving ARVs at primary care facilities are currently doing so through the club system.
