Plantasia raises awareness of environmental issues through the provision of an accessible facility giving all visitors a unique opportunity to observe and learn about tropical plants and animals as a leisurely activity, educational experience and tourist attraction. Plantasia has a large enclosed green ‘hot’ house with 3 different climatic zones containing rare and unusual tropical, sub tropical and semi arid plants and a butterfly room. It also has a wildlife area with many unusual reptiles and insects, along with a dedicated school exhibition room for special events and talks etc. There is a gift shop selling books, crafts, and unusual gifts relating to the theme of the Plantasia experience, and there is also a Coffee Shop serving a range of Fairtrade goodies.
