Overview
Dexter County Park is located around Lake Dexter on 1,235 acres. Over 1,000 of these acres are undeveloped with wooded and wetland areas that boast abundant wildlife. Lake Dexter is 298 acres in size. With a maximum depth of 17 feet, the lake is a very popular fishing destination for Northern Pike, Walleye, Bass, Crappie, Perch, Bluegills and Suckers. There is a public boat landing located in the park, complete with a boat washdown station and fish cleaning station. Dexter County Park also has a 95 site campground open from May 1 to the end of the gun deer season at the end of November. There are 93 sites that are electric. Other amenities include a beach area, handicapped fish access areas and walking trails varying in distances of 1.75, 3.75 and 5.25 miles. There are also small picnic areas, playgrounds, and shelter buildings for day users.
