Overview
The Oakes Museum is a unique museum experience for the whole family, classroom, or group featuring
more than 40,000 specimens. The 10,000-squarefoot museum is home to a collection of Smithsonianquality
African and North American mammals, bird eggs, fish, seashells, minerals, insects, and fossils. New exhibits include “Hanging Around in a Canopy Rainforest ”, "Natures Kaleidoscope of Color" from our butterfly collection, "Game Birds and Aquatic waterfowl" from our bird and oology collections, Backyard Diorama with the addition of 12 animals you might see in your own backyard!
PUBLIC MUSEUM HOURS
Saturdays—1–5 p.m.
(closed 5th Saturdays of the month)
School groups, tour groups, etc. may make appointments to visit during the week. group prices and registration
