Ilanda Wilds protects 15ha of riverine and coastal scarp forest along the Amanzimtoti River. Of interest is the plaque on a stone where King Shaka tasted the river water and from where Amanzimtoti got its name – “Place of sweet water”. Also present are uncommon trees, such as the Fluted Milkwood and Natal Elm.
