Rezumat
Aria naturală protejată „Lacul Zagra”, cunoscută și sub numele de Tăul lui Alac de la Zagra, trecută sub regim provizoriu de ocrotire prin Decizia Consiliului Popular al Județului Bistrița-Năsăud nr. 58 din 23 februarie 1976 a, reconfirmată prin declararea ca zonă naturală protejată prin Hotărârea nr. 3 din 14 martie 1995, este o arie protejată de interes național declarată prin Legea nr. 5 din 6 martie 2000 privind aprobarea planului de amenajare a teritoriului național, secțiunea a III-a zone protejate, cod rezervație 2.216, fiind încadrată la categoria rezervații naturale de tip mixtă, hidrologică și zoologică, corespunzătoare categoriei IV IUCN.
