History:
- Original use: Residential;
- Built in 1845;
- Original owner: J. Snediker;
- Poet W. H. Auden (2.21.1907 - 9.27.1973) lived here from 1952 to 1973.
- The basement of this building was the location where the newspaper Novy Mir ("New World" or "New Peace"), a Russian-language Communist paper, was founded in 1916. It was edited by Nikolai Ivanovich Bukharin, and Leon Trotsky worked there. The paper stop publishing after the Russian Revolution of October 1917.
