Overview
The Munn tavern was built in 1802 by Captain Joseph Munn near the intersection of Church Street and Valley Road, which were important thoroughfares then. Munn was a Captain in the military. It served as a tavern and also as the town's first post office. The Public Library was housed in the Munn tavern from 1898-1904. The building is now on the property of the Evnagelical Covenant Church. It is listed on the State Register of Historic Places.
