Overview
The Student Union is the university’s community center. It is a LEED Certified building, and offers our community a variety of facilities, programs, services and activities. The Union is a student-centered organization that complements the academic experience of UNF students through a variety of cultural, educational, social and recreational programs, while providing an engaging learning environment. Through formal and informal associations the Union seeks to create and foster a university community that promotes participatory decision-making, leadership development and citizenship.
The three-story facility is actually two buildings, connected by an open-air plaza, and comprises 148,000 gross square feet. The east side of the building houses administrative offices, Student Government functions and student services. It also houses a convenience store and a game room. The west side of the building will incorporate the UNF Bookstore, a restaurant, a food court with four or five fast-food outlets—including Quizno’s, Salsarita’s, Coyote Jack’s Grill and Chicken Grill—and a large theater.
