Overview

The Giraffe is a novel hybrid wind-solar power station that produces approximately 6000 kWh of green energy per year (equivalent to an average Swedish household annual energy consumption or 30000 km driven in a medium-sized electric car). This solution is the most recent release from the innovative Malmö-headquartered company InnoVentum designed in collaboration with the French National Institute of Wood Engineering (ENSTIB). Lund Technology Institute has supported additional load calculations. The construction provides an excellent example of how one can use environmentally friendly renewable material such as wood to build power stations supplying renewable energy.
