Cleveland
CSU Prototype Wind Tower
Overview
Cleveland State University has designed and constructed a prototype wind power generating structure based on an experimental patented design developed by Dr. Majid Rashidi, Professor in CSU’s Mechanical Engineering Department. The wind turbine system includes a wind deflecting structure that resembles a large hollow cylinder with 7-foot diameter horizontal-axis wind turbines, two on either side, located on opposite sides of the cylinder and suspended from a rotating support structure.
