Overview
Tremont Electric is a sustainable company that manufactures, markets, and sells clean-tech products centered around its patented nPower® (kinetic energy harvesting) technology. nPower® generates renewable energy from movement, like human walking and waves from our Great Lakes and oceans. The company's first product, the nPower® PEG, is a small, lightweight device that's used to recharge hand-held electronic devices from the energy generated from walking or running. Just place the nPower® PEG in your backpack or briefcase and go, the PEG captures and stores your energy so that you'll have backup power for your cell phone, iPod, or GPS when you need it.
nPower® technology is scalable. Tremont Electric is collaborating with The Ohio State University and the University of Akron to develop the nPower® WEC (Wave Energy Converter) to generate commercial-scale power from the Great Lakes and oceans.
