Overview
Added Value is an urban farm right in Red Hook, just across the street from IKEA! Since the year 2000, when Added Value transformed a 2.75 acre dilapidated playground into a community farm, it has become an indispensable community resource and leader in the food justice movement. Added Value employs and trains local teens year-round in all aspects of organic agriculture from seed to sale, provides educational programming to school groups, operates a farmers market and CSA, partners with local restaurants, and donates food to those in need. Added Value also recently started a farm on Governor's Island.
