Overview
Dance Theatre Etcetera is an organization with a mission! They provide arts education in three Brooklyn high schools, hold weekend dance classes, organize events and performances in Red Hook and elsewhere in Brooklyn, and have a blog. According to their website, they base their work on the belief that "the arts are an effective vehicle for social transformation, Dance Theatre Etcetera unites artists and community members as co-creators in dynamic cultural activities. Through site-specific performances, festivals, parades, and performing arts and media education programs, Dance Theatre Etcetera stimulates the social imagination through acts of informed expression." We interviewed Dance Theater Etcetera and were really impressed by all of the work they are doing with and youth and in the community.
Look at their website for more info about classes and performances: http://www.dancetheatreetcetera.org/
