Tengo un tronco sumamente grueso, con corteza café grisácea agrietada en tiras largas.
Ahuehuetl en náhuatl significa: viejo del agua -debido a que habita cerca de pantanos, arroyos y manantiales.
Ahuehuetes famosos: el árbol del Tule en Oaxaca.
