Overview
Osprey Junction Trailhead is a dog-friendly park. Dogs must be leashed at all times (maximum 6-foot-long leash). Dog owners are required to pick up after their dogs.
This 10-acre park is located in Osprey at the east end of Bay Street and is adjacent to the Legacy Trail. Sarasota County purchased the property in late 2008 with funds from the Neighborhood Parkland Acquisition Program.
Purchase of this property provided an opportunity to acquire a large parcel adjacent to the Legacy Trail within an area of the corridor that had been identified as a potential trailhead location. The park site includes typical neighborhood park amenities such as a picnic tables/benches, nature trails and parking.
LEGACY TRAIL
The Legacy Trail is the largest public recreation project ever constructed in Sarasota County. At more than 10 miles in length, the trail offers one of the best ways to experience what makes Sarasota County the jewel of Florida’s gulf coast.
