Overview
Carlson Studio is a full-service architecture firm committed to design excellence, comprehensive project delivery and personal attention to each project. They are dedicated to the highest quality solutions, cost control and innovative use of technology. Principal of the firm, Michael Carlson has been practicing in Sarasota since 1986 and has designed some of the most stunning buildings throughout the county. In 2009 Carlson Studio Architecture designed the “2009 HGTV Green Home” which was toured by thousands and viewed by millions on TV and the Web. The building is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certified Silver Building.
Carlson Studio Architecture has worked on sustainable projects throughout the United States and currently celebrates one of the highest numbers of LEED certified projects in the region. It designed its office using recycled materials and incorporated natural and high-efficiency lighting. It purchases recycled content materials and monitors its waste to identify more recycling and reuse opportunities. It also purchases green power that offsets 100 percent of its electricity use.
Carlson Studio Architecture became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2008. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
