Overview
We view Global Organic Specialty Source as the bridge between the farmer and the consumer. Our mission is to make quality organic produce fruits and vegetables available to as many people as possible. We work toward that goal by encouraging the growth of Organic Farms, Retailers and Co-op groups throughout the Southeastern United States. Our brand, Noah's Organic Garden, is designed to bring premium, hand-selected organic produce into hundreds of new retail outlets.
Global Organic Specialty Source’s environmental commitment includes resource, energy, and water conservation in addition to providing a non-toxic work and production environment. They are committed to producing zero food waste. To accomplish this, food not routed to consumers is given to employees at no cost with excess donated to Manatee County Food Bank and Sarasota's All Faith's Food Bank. Remaining items are taken to the owner's farm and used as compost in his organic operation.
Global Organic Specialty Source became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2013. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
