MyGreenBuildings focuses on building high performance homes using highly efficient state-of-the-art green standards and practices, using sustainable and renewable materials and energy-efficient design. They also perform re-building and remodeling work (also known as “retrofitting”) for existing homes delivering their clients with a sustainable alternative to new construction. Company founders are LEED certified, and their projects have consistently been scored as the highest performing homes in the State of Florida. The company provides educational seminars on the many benefits’ of green building and design throughout the county and through their Community Support for Local Resources (CSLR™) program, the business provides substantial financial support and hundreds of hours of community service to local charitable organizations and public schools. MyGreenBuildings uses a high percentage of salvaged or reuse materials in all of their construction projects.
My Green Buildings became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2007. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
