Appalachian Trail - ATC Mid Atlantic Office
このサイトについて
The famed Appalachian Trail runs for 2175 miles from Katahdin in Maine to Springer Mountain in Georgia, and 27 of those miles run through Cumberland County. The midway point of the trail is located in Cumberland County, and it’s a tradition for hikers to stop at the General Store in Pine Grove Furnace State Park where they try to down a half gallon of Hershey’s ice cream. You can obtain hiking maps of the trail at the Office at Pine Grove Furnace, and at the Appalachian Trial Conservancy building in Boiling Springs. You can begin your Appalachian Trail experience along Quarry Road by the furnace. A parking area near the furnace pavilion and a comfort station are available for trail users; a free parking permit is required. Please visit the park office to register your car and intended destination and/or time of return. Visitor parking is available in the brick paved parking lot in front of the ATC building. Overnight and long-term hiker parking is available nearby. Call for more information about the parking permit.
The Visitor Center is open year-round on weekdays 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 .p.m. The Visitor Center is closed on weekends and federal holidays, though volunteers may be on-site during summer weekends.
