History of this Location
Aurea Mello and her husband opened this restaurant in 1994. Their inspiration for opening up the restaurant derived from a family who owned a cachaça brewery long ago. Restaurante da Matriz is most famous for their delicious cachaça. The restaurant is located in the oldest and most historical part of Paraty and is named after the famous Church da Matriz. This restaurant has great food, wonderful atmosphere, and unbelievable cachaça.
Sustainable Features
This business uses mostly local resources, hires family and some locals, and participates as a sponsor in parades.
