Boathouse Row is uniquely Philadelphian. An indelible part of the urban landscape, it is comprised of 15 separate boating and social clubs. All of the buildings were built between 100 and 150 years ago and represent the city's longstanding tradition with the sport of crew. While it might seem odd to have a sporting facility on a list of cultural sites, boathouse row is a special site and its architecture is worth noting, especially because several of the house have been deemed historic landmarks.
