Efecto Sombrilla is in Vieques! We are interested in mapping the effects of climate change in the island and through its residents and visitors. To this day most maps of Vieques are made solely for tourists, and although there are many ways to find which restaurant or hotel to visit, there is no visibility of local projects that mitigate climate change, or natural and community resources, and of elements related to climate change and its effects on fishing, agriculture, etc.
We hope this map becomes a collective database for observations of climate change in Vieques as well as a mapping of places, people, and projects that work with the environment and well-being of the island.
Everything from fruit trees, farms, fishermen, traces of climate change, flora and fauna, agricultural resources, can be placed on this map! We want Vieques to offer and share its local resources beyond a touristic end.
