Overview
Situated in the heart of the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands, Peter's Gate Herb Farm was established in the winter of 1997. The name Peter's Gate implies "a glimpse over heaven" and refers to the beautiful view over the Caversham Valley. Owners, Geoff and Karen and their family have a love for all that is natural and organic and are sensitive to the ecological needs of the world around them. It is this love that goes into the growing of their wide range of herb plants and into every product made on site. Safe, natural and gentle on the environment are key words relating to the Peter's Gate experience.
They hold monthly courses and workshops and a broad range of topics, i.e. cosmetic herbal products, medicinal herbs and their uses, basic and advanced soap making, household herbal products and scented products, garden design and propagating, organic gardening and vermiculture, Herbs for Pets, etc.
Varying in age from eight months to sixteen years, a group of home-schooled children visit Peter’s Gate Herb Farm. Every month the children participate in two different activities, one focusing on gardening and one on craft.
We would love to welcome you to share our experience. We are 100% organic.
