Overview
This newly constructed building, located in Williamsburg, comprises of two residential duplex units and one commercial unit. The commercial unit will become the new studio space of Helder Design, designer and developer of this mixed-use building. Unlike typical new constructions, Helder not only designed but also developed the building. Among the many green aspects of this project's building features; radiant floor heating, a 96% efficient condensing boiler, a well insulated enclosure and private photo voltaic solar panel arrays for each unit. In addition, the building utilizes solar heat as a passive energy source due to the north-south orientation of the building. Helder is aiming for a Platinum rating, the highest in the L.E.E.D system.
