According to gumtree.com the British throw away over 1.2 million bicycles every year. The Swansea project is helping to reduce this wastage by re-cycling the waste bikes. The Re-Cycle scheme in Swansea takes in donations of unwanted bikes which are refurbished, repaired and supplied cheaply to low waged people, asylum seekers and refugees.
