Bayhead Natural Heritage Site
Overview
Bayhead Natural Heritage Site is a 20ha nature reserve, which protects a pocket of mangroves and coastal grassland within the Durban Bay. Three species of Mangrove occur within the reserve, as well as an area of coastal grassland. A number of water birds and crabs can be seen on the intertidal mudflats.

Driving Directions: Take the N2 south towards Amanzimtoti. Take the Solomon Mahlangu Drive off-ramp and turn left into Solomon
Mahlangu Drive (Edwin Swales V.C. Drive). Travel on Solomon
Mahlangu Drive and turn left into South Coast Road after the railway bridge. Travel north on South Coast Road and turn right into Bayhead Road. Follow Bayhead Road and turn into Gate 7
(Langeberg Road) entrance towards National Port Authority
(Follow directional boards). Travel along Langeberg Road and turn left into Breede Road. Entrance to reserve is located on left.
