Sai Kung Town is on the eastern side of Sai Kung Peninsula, facing Sai Kung Hoi, and is famed as the "Back Garden of Hong Kong." Sai Kung Town started off as a fishing village since the 14th century, later became a gathering place for fishermen and villagers from the 20's, and slowly evolved into a market place. Nowadays, Sai Kung Town is a mecca for seafood lovers, one of the popular choices is the Hoi Pong Square along the waterfront at Sai Kung Town centre, which features a collection of quality seafood restaurants and relaxing scenery.

As fewer villagers rely on the fishing business, Sai Kung was turned into a popular place for water sports and entertainment. Visitors can easily hire sampans and junks for leisurely trips through the beautiful island-dotted inland sea of Port Shelter or stroll around the regional market center of Sai Kung Town or other islands. Sai Kung Town is a low-density residential area, and has relatively clean air and slow pace of life; hence it has attracted many expats to move into the neighborhood.

Since it is more humid in town, furniture provided in stores is more suitable for the climate. In addition, with the relaxing environment, these stores are also targeting on more lifestyle products as well as those that are favoured by expats.
