This historic house is a designated landmark. It was built in 1927 in the Classical Revival style.
This compact residence is the only example of a small scale Georgian house in the Stonebridge Road neighborhood.
Mr. Frank Goodwillie, the prominent architect, was the original owner of this residence which said to be copied from an earlier house in Annapolis. Built with old brick from Virgina, there was originally a parapet roof to the home which was later removed because of problems with melting snow and ice.
This was Mr. Goodwillie’s last home for he died on Oct. 7, 1929. Mr. Goodwillie had a successful architectural career in practice under his own name and in partnership with Frank E. Wallis later, William E. Moran. Although he designed office buildings and plants, he was also known his fine residential work in New York and New Jersey.
The house is listed on both the state and national registers of historic places.
