Localizada entre a zona de praia, construída sobre arrecifes adjacentes ao estuário do Potengi, foi tombada como patrimônio histórico em 1949, e hoje é administrada pelo Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artistico Nacional (IPHAN).
